Based on the effective work of my personal eBay shopper, my bank account continues to be drained. I have been warned by BCFF members to stop this madness (which I am just beginning) of cane, vintage reels and what i hope to stay away from, but can't commit, silk lines. 3" Farlows reel for #4 or #5 line. This will clean up nicely once the 80 year old grease is taken off and it's buffed a little. This is a 1920's or so Farlow's Reel. Farlow's is the high end shop in London, similar to Abacrombie and Fitch in NYC at the turn of the century. Farlow's contracted Young, Dingly and Hardy to build their reels. This one has a bone handle. The spool comes off by using a screw driver. The click and pawl drag is adjustable, but not during playing a fish. The rim can be palmed.
