Just looked at the flow data for the Hoosic.
Water was high/coming down fast...
You should be out there throwing streamers right now!!!

I fished it in N. Pownal last Sat. It was at 5.5 feet then , now it is more like 6. Wading was tough at best and then only possible in a few places. I threw everything I had at them, but they were not interested. Water temp @ 55*. There was a nice hatch of mayflies and caddis in the middle of the afternoon but the only fish I could see rising, were way beyond where I could wade. Last Mondays rain really jumped it up a bit but if we don't get any serious rain it should continue to drop. Things are just about ready to turn on. AgMD

Mark,
Water still looks high. We did hit the south branch and the main stem in Adams for a few hours after school/work last week before the rains and I got a 12" inch brookie on a muddler. I think the USGS gage for Williamstown was around 200cfs at that time. The kid had another larger fish on a streamer for about 5 seconds. That was it.
Had an interesting day on the Delaware yesterday. Stay tuned for the story.

One of these days I'll get up to the the Deleware/Catskills. That area and anywhere in Montana is a goal of mine. I also want to get to the Gulf. I've never fished the salt and want to chase some Tarpon, Bones, and Permit.
I'm pretty lucky having the Driftless Area of Wisconsin only a few hours away and the 100's of miles of Spring Creeks, but the Holy Grail of trout fishing for me are the Catskills because of the history and the virtual evolution of fly fishing in the U.S. and the classic patterns that came out of that area and anywhere in Montana - just for the experience.
If any of you guys ever get out this way, lets try to get together and we'll take a trip to the Driftless. You'll be talking about your experience for a long time...
My door is always open...
