Smallie fishing is really hot right now.
Got out on Sunday for about 3 hours and C & R'd around a dozen smallies with the biggest pushing 19". Was throwing my 8 wt. with a 15' sink tip and pulling streamers.
All in all a great outing; especially when all the spin fisherman on the banks were getting skunked and I caught fish from the holes they just got done pounding...
