Has anybody gotten out on the Hoosic, Housy, Deerfield et. al.?
Or are the rivers blown from the run-off???
Man I'm getting the itch to get out...

The Housy has been running very dark and very high. I'm watching it daily and as soon as I can climb in without being swept to Connecticut I'll be posting an update.
Fly lines are cleaned, fly boxes reviewed restocked and organized, vest is re-packed, everything is ready and packed in my trunk ready to go. There is also a bead of drool coming out of my mouth hitting my keyboard thinking the first tight line of the season.

Housy has beyond killer populations of smallies, somedays you wonder if your ever gonna get skunked....

I love the Smallies!
Nothing like ripping a big streamer and have one hammer it.
Maybe next time I'm in the Berkshires during the Summer, I'll head to the Housy.

Yes Mark, like Andy said it has TONS of smallies. Once the water warms they will hit just about anything that you can throw in the water. Towards the end of the trout season it gets tough sometimes to keep the smallies off your fly so you can catch some trout.
I've got some fun holes that will land you 20+ fish standing in the same spot before you have to move a little further downstream.

You would be surprised by the number of stretches that hold largemouth bass as well. I was fishing a stretch in Lee this past summer and caught one that I would put around 6 pounds. Did I mention this was the Housy I'm talking about? I've got some good bass fishing pic's, including the 6 pounder. I would scan them and post them but I may be exiled from the club as I'm sure many would notice the spinning rod in my hand. It was the middle of summer though, so I can't get beat up too bad.
