JLIBS: Dean, wanna go fly fishing?
Dean: I'll go fishin' with ya'.

Deans assortment of powerbait for "under the bridge" fishing.
JLIBS: Dean, I'll fish under the bridge with you, but we'll use flies.
Dean: OK, but you'll have to help me. I've tried that fly stuff and I always seem to catch trees. I'll take you to where I have a lawn chair and beer cooler stashed in the woods by the bridge. I love to sit there, have a cold one, and just wait for those powerbait strikes. I just love it!

Closer shot of Dean under his favorite bridge high-sticking for a drag free drift (with a fly and not his "bait" of choice).

Dean carefully releasing a nice brown caught on his hand-tied fly.
JLIBS: See Dean. Fishing with flies isn't so bad.
Dean: Yeah. I guess. Actually, I used to only fly fish exclusively. Then, Joe got me into on this meat fishing stuff.

JLIBS about to carefully release a nice brown from his barbless fly.
The report:
We fished for 4 hours right into dark in a very very shaded part of the river. The water was in the mid to high 60's and there was plenty of white water for ogygen. There were feeder streams where we were fishing as well. We hooked and landed 8-10 fish total on barbless midges, nymphs, emergers and dries using stout rods as to land the fish fast. The water throughout the river is extremely low, except for certain spots such as where we were. This area we fished has a couple of extremely deep holes where the fish safely take refuge. We landed fish very quickly without "playing the fish" and we did carefully revive the fish until they swam away aggressively on their own. As mentioned in some previous posts, fishing on the Housy this time of the year for trout is often risky and fly fishers should be particularly cautious for the sake of the trout.
