Well, the crazy release schedule at Fife Brook (high water til 9PM every bleeping day) has me looking for a 'Plan B'. Anybody fish from #4 dam down to the North River confluence?
Looks like a sumbitch to get into, and big boulders up the wazoo, but most of the water is diverted to the power station so it might work out. Advice?

Fife Brook section has been down until 11:00am the past few days. Start there and work your way down staying ahead of the water. It was great fishing this morning....

'Cane, I guess I'm trying to fish an evening rise ;-)
I do agree, mornings on the Deerfield can be pretty good, just looking for more options...

I hear ya..... The evening caddis/sulpher hatches on the Deerfield can be spectacular. Their normal schedule is to run water up to about 4:00pm. Wonder why they are going until 9:00....

Probably still a lot of water in the system. Quabbin is still overflowing in June, they say the groundwater is way up.
Well, I went and looked, nice structure, deep cuts, lotsa boulders, but when the Fife brook surge hits the water gets _extremely_ murky. I bagged it and headed home. Pity, looked promising, but I expect it clouds up every evening...
