Hey all. Just got back from Florida ! I tied up a Polar Bear Bugger and proceeded to Go fishing in some of the ponds on my Grandfathers Golf course. This first picture is the first fish i have ever caught on a fly tied by myself, and it is also the first fish caught on my own Designed Pattern. The Polar Bear Bugger. Obviously Its a Crappie. Also caught numerous bass on that fly. This is just one of them! I also caught some of these fish....Not sure what they are, I think they are Texas Cichlid or Firemouth Cichlid. Who knows, but they fought like a 3 pound bass. Also caught a MONSTER BASS LIKE 7 pounds on my spinning rod. But I didnt even have my camera on my....It was the fish of a lifetime. But i do have a picture of my Bass Thumb. You know its good fishing when your thumb looks like this.... Enjoy the Pics! I am going to Colorado this week, Hopefully i'll have some pics from Gore Creek in Vail!

I think that mystery fish is a "Warmouth". Check out the Florida freshwater fishing regs.
Looks like you had a good time!

I dont think it was a Warmouth, I have seen a warmouth before, and it just looks like a miniature smallmouth bass crossed with a rock bass. That looks like a cichlid to me...blue acara, black acara....

a warmouth appears to have a rounded lobe at the end of it's dorsal fin and the anal fin is much shorter and rounder than the fish pictured above, that said, i have no clue what that is ;D

Joe tends to mix up fish species all time time such as salmon and trout. You just can't trust Joe when it comes to identifying fish.

This is a loosing battle for you, Josh. Are you sure you want to play? huh i'm not claiming to know what that is, when i look at the picture from the fl regs and any other online photos of a warmouth, the fin structure looks different. it actually looks more like the tilapia in the regs book you posted, that is besides the coloring. take a look at the tail as well... maybe it's just a weird photo and that's throwing me off maybe it's a never before discovered hybrid!!! ;D

I was thinking that it could be a tilapia.... most likely is....It is definitely a cichlid of some sort tho.
