For those of you that saw the slide show of my Aniak River, AK remote drift boat/fly fishing trip, here are some moose ribs that were sent to me from hunters in the region. They taste delicious and look like brontosaurus bones. The picture of the moose is one of the many I saw on the trip. JLIBS

Ahh, moose…. Nice pics! I’ve bumped into a few of them in the Berkshires. This shot is of a “calf” I bumped into a few years ago while on a late season bird hunt. Momma moose went one way, this pup went the other. I only managed a pic of the calf…. And, who could forget this moose that found its way into dear Hulda Jowett’s pool on Mass. Ave? The tracks were all over my parent’s backyard down the road before this poor critter found its way into a sad situation. It made the national news…. A few years ago I found a skeleton in a swamp while bushwacking. But, worst of all, I found a rotting dead bull last Summer that some reprehensible lowlife had shot and left for dead. People are scum.

Oh Man, do those ribs look good! A treat you don't come across around here. Uplander, speaking of skeletons....I came across this 9-pointer a couple years back while hiking the dogs. The shooter mustn't have made a clean shot and lost him on the run-the coyotes certainly didn't lose him though. I looked around and this was all I could find that was left of him. No legs, ribs, nothing. I had seen what must have been the same deer about a month earlier in the same general area before hunting season started. He was a very big buck to say the least.
