"And if the child has taken up the fly rod, he has a priori shaken hands with nature, thus sealing an agreement to both understand and protect her many wonders. For fly-fishing can be conceived in no other way... " Philip Brunquell Fly-Fishing with Children Trout Unlimited has a 'First Cast' Program for introducing children to fly-fishing and protecting our natural coldwater resources. This sounds like a good book and is a fun site for kids to start with: www.trouttail.com/

Josh, I have a 13 year old nephew and a 10 year old niece that i'm teaching to Fly Fish this year. I try to take them (1 at a time) with me when ever I go to the fly shop and spend time showing them the different things. They claim they would also like to learn how to tie! Why don't I have kid's like that? Wait I don't have any kid's LOL.
