Last year,when I went to Orvis.I picked up a couple of flies called the lighting bug.They worked so well that ive been tieing them this winter .The body is siver and the bead is silver and the dubbing up front is dark brown.the best way to check out this fly is go to google and punch in lighting bug fly and you can check it out.it really worked well for me in off colored water.I reallt think the trout think its live bait.

Can you post of pic of your variation or at least the recipe with detailed instructions.
When you Google the pattern, there are a number of styles/variations with that particular name, which I'm sure are region specific.
