If anybody who is up for some tying, a few of us will be getting together on Tuesday, April 10th after work in Pittsfield. We can meet in the same room where the last BCFF meeting was, above the Brew Works on Depot St. I have the room reserved from 5pm until whenever (last time we stopped tying around 7:30). Feel free to bring your tying gear, or just come to hang out and go down to the brewery afterwards for a drink or some food. If you've never tied and would like to try it out, I'll have an extra vice and some tools, plus plenty of materials. If there are any patterns you'd like to try out, post a follow up and I'll try to have the materials and patterns available.
Post a reply if you can make it. Let me know if you need directions.

Jeff:
Charlie works fine, I've been called lots worse.
I'm familiar with the Brewery on Depot Street, having worked at the Berkshire Common on West St. for years before retiring. I assume you are somewhere upstairs above the Brewery.

Thanks for organizing last nights tying session and thanks for the spun deer hair lesson, jskowron.
Last night, I was pleased to have had fun while learning in good company, and the food and beer were good too.
My wife thought it was a little wierd that I came home last night (after spending the evening with guys) with a new bottle of nail polish (salley hanson, hard-as-nails) that I was excited about and I smelled like beer. Am I alone here? Can anyone help me out?

Another good time- nice to see a few others there as well. We should look to doing this every month or so. Sorry-I can't help you with your wife. Just wait until you start clipping deer hair bugs at your couch-side tying station.

I'll second Jlibs review of the session. Good fun, good company and an opportunity to pick up a few tips.
And Andy's heads-up on the Black & Decker small parts box for storing tying stuff came just in time -- I got the last one at Home Depot today.

Had a great time . . . . Glad to hear you picked up one of those small parts boxes . . . Really is a great deal for something like that. If Plano Made that it would be $40 instead of $10.
I would be down to do that once a month.... Especially one the season kicks into gear...

Flymandan,
I'm no pro and i'm still learning aggressively, but i'd be pleased to lend a hand and give you some basic skills for tried and true patterns if you like and can find the time.
On a side note, jskowron, CTROY and I will be in Westfield volunteering with the salmon fry stocking this Saturday and our plan was to do some fishing on the Westfield trib's afterwards. You are welcome to join us. Let us know by tomorrow if you're interested.

Flymandan,
We'll have to do a night in Springfield sometime. We use a space in my office in Pittsfield for the meetings. My main office is in Springfield, and I have access to the same type of space. It might be nice for us Eastern guys, and it wouldn't kill some of the Berks guys to take a drive (even though the office is in the South End ;D)
