Thanks for your initiative! I'm in, but I'll tie some half-back nymphs, not hare's ears.
I assume we tie a fly for each of the particiapnts? = 6? right
JLIBS - Half-back nymph Yashuone - Griffiths Gnats jskwron - Goddard Caddis flyfishGB - Wooly Buggers (subject to change) FishinCane - Hendrickson Dry JoeOverlock - Mystery Fly

if we tie one for every person participating, including ourselves, it makes it much easier for the swapmaster because everyone gets the same package. it prevents any oversight that could lead to a person getting their own fly back and miss out on one of the ones from the other folks. just some insight provided by the "swapmaster" on another forum whaere i participated in a fly swap. so six would be on target if ffgb would like to do it that way...
your call ffgb.

i will also be doing an ant pattern as the griffith's gnat is so easy that it's almost cheesey ;D and some folks are doing some more involved flies. (and i can always use the practice )

Yashuone,
Make it a size 32 griffith's gnat and then it won't be so easy! Seriously though, don't worry about the ease of your pattern compared to what others are tying. The swap is a good way to force yourself to sit down and tie a bunch of the same flies. Do them all in one sitting and I bet you'll see a noticeable difference between the the 1st and the 6th.

Fellas:
Put me down for Pass Lake Streamers. A number of Brookies and Browns were brought to hand on my last outing on the Hoosic and Deerfield with it.

Make it a size 32 griffith's gnat and then it won't be so easy! ;D ;D ;D i have a tough enough time doing them on size 18 hooks with my lanky fingers. these ants are easy too so it's no big thing (and they slay!!!) so we're at 7 now i believe...

My 7 half-back nymphs are ready to be shipped. They are not the best, but they look "buggy" and I'm sure they will catch some fish.
As far as the address for mailing, you can send the participants a personal message through the board, or you can post your personal email and we can all email you to get the address individually.

I got the flies to today. They look great. I especially like that mystery fly that Joe tied ;D
Kudos to Andrew (flyfishgb) for taking care of business. I look forward to the next swap.
Now let's get out and use 'em. First one to post a picture of trout caught on one of the swap flies gets a beer (or a soft drink for you minors or non-drinkers) on me after one of the meetings. If it's one of you guys who live far away (yashuone/Mark P.) then maybe a free beer will lure you back to W. Mass- I'll make it 22 oz!

Great job on the flies everyone.
My eyes are going to be burning after trying to track Yashuone's gnat and ant. You're making it tough on my 46 year old eyes... If I may suggest, try tying the ant pattern with orange foam. Gierach swears by it.
Also, really nice job on the Goddard jskwron!

flyfishgb, Thanks for the organizing. You did a great job. Also, thanks to the members who joined in on the fun. These are some great flies.
I look forward to the next swap. We'll have a vote if we let Joe join us or not on the next one!

Gierach swears by it. next time i'll put a nice chartruese or orange post on yours mark ;D i agree they have been tough to track if the water is riffled at all, but i guarantee you won't miss the eruption from the 26" monster that hits that fly for you i've had luck with chernobyls so i don't doubt that orange works, i'll have to go grab some orange closed cell i guess.

In order to see dries better, or foam ants, etc. I know a guy who puts a dab of his wifes bright finger nail polish or some bright model airplane paint on the top of his flies.
