Playing Hooky

A week ago Thursday found me staring out the office window with a clear calendar and forecast for decent weather in the Berkshires. With that, a note was dashed off to the powers that be and my administrative assistant that I was outta there ‘till Monday.

Friday I decided to ply the waters of a cascading stream for brookies holed up in the ice cold water, and clear my head of the cobwebs of civilization. I also contacted one of my buddies I’ve known since we were 6 years old, and plans were quickly hashed to toss the gear in the backpacks and strike out on Saturday into the mountains for an overnighter. It was a blast!

Because we were hiking until dusk and the camera was packed away almost the whole time, I didn’t get too many photos. But, without further rambling, I give you a glimpse of last weekend:

I not a doctor, though I do play one in the darkroom, but it is my belief that there is nothing that can beat the healing and restorative benefits of a trout stream. With our modern awareness of preventative medicine, I am glad to see that you were able to take the needed steps to prevent the unwanted onset of disease. I prescribe that this treatment be repeated frequently.
Is there anything prettier than a brookie?
