WOW! My brother went up to Lake Buel last night only to find an Eight foot Black Bear rummaging through our garbage and neighbors. The problem though is that it DIDN'T leave the house when we arrived. He contacted the local police but this thing was way to big to stay there.
Whats the best way to deal with these critters.................

Don't leave garbage outside. Keep it in covered containers in a garage or some other closed in place. That way you won't be inviting them over for a snack.
If they are just passing through ignore them. They will eventually wander off. We have them around all of the time and you can shout at them, bang pots and pans or whatever and they'll just look at you and then go off in search of some place where folks have left food or garbage out.
