i tried a couple multitools before one of them was the gerber with the retracting plier head and that broke in a couple months. overall i find multitools to heavy in the pocket. i find that you really can't use the tools that would be most useful. for instance the screwdriver. numerous times i've needed to adjust a carb on my old motorcycles or get at something in tight under the hood of a vehicle and found the multitool couldn't help me at all. the handle of the multitool is often to bulky or the driver shaft is not long enough to get where it's needed. i keep a small toolkit in all my vehicles now since that's easier than carrying a bulky tool in my pocket or on my belt, that only works a small percentage of the time. the most usefull item on there is the blade (that makes it stink that much more that yours broke joe) and if that's not of good quality then for me it hardly makes the tool worth while. i'll "stick" with my knife
