So what's out there this year for Fly Fishing gifts? Anybody seen anything neat in the catalogs?

I just picked up a copy of Casting A Spell; The Bamboo Fly Rod and the American Pursuit of Perfection, by George Black. Looks like it would make a nice gift for anyone who likes bamboo rods. www.randomhouse.com/rhpg/catalog/display.pperl?isbn=9781400063963There was still one copy at Water Street Books in Williamstown on Sunday….

I saw that at Barnes & Noble the other day. It looks good. I've got the "Trout Grass" DVD on my list.

Maybe a Vice and some fly tying materials or a Kit so my bored ass doesn't have to sit around and not TIE FLIES! Maybe a book or two also as that reading is POWER!

It's not only for the fly fisher, but the recently released LL Bean book on the history and business has great reviews. It's available on the LL Bean website for $16.00.

I always ask for and receive gift certificates to my local shop. Last year I used it on new Orvis Wonderline. This year will probably be tying material.
