Can you believe it, with this arctic express pushing through the Chicago area we have about 2" of fluffy snow on the ground right now! Obviously won't be staying around, the ground is still too warm, but....
Its Steelhead time!

Most of the snow is gone except for the shady areas.
Better snow than rain. No big runoff to screw up the flows for me this weekend.
This time of year is great because of all the various migrations of fish from Lake Michigan, but you have to be able to handle the weather.
I had one outing last Fall where it started with sun, then turned to drizzle, then a driving rain, the rain stopped and then small hail with snow pellets mixed in started, then all snow (almost a white out), and then the sun came out again. All in the span of 6 hours. Went 3 for 3 on Steelhead that day.
You have to adopt the postman's motto...nor rain, nor snow. nor dark of night... or something like that...
