Man, won’t this rain ever let up? It’s been something like 28 days with hardly any sun! Pretty much this entire week has been a washout. On Wednesday we got 6+ inches of rain in as many hours. I drove home at lunch to feed/potty the puppy, and I was shocked at the ferocity of the rain. Like one of those hellacious summer thunderstorms/downpours, but without letup for hours…. My garden was a lake, and even today, 2 days after the deluge, the sump pump in my basement continues to kick on every couple of minutes. And, we’re expecting another 3+ inches tonight! Spoke to Dear Ol’ Dad back at the Old Homestead this morning, and he says all the streams are gushing, so don’t think I’ll bother to make the drive west this weekend….

Yeah, high water everywhere, flies in the air but fishing ? Fahggettabouttit! On the bright side, I'm practicing my archery more and bambi is getting nervous. Looks like I'll be shooting arrows at the T-BONE (Traditional Bowmen of New England) shoot this weekend instead of drifting Cahills below carbis Bend. Or maybe I'll venture to The Stream Whose Name Must Not Be Spoken and hope for a few brookies...
