Cripes, you people are boring! No one posting much recently…. BB is dullsville last bunch of days! So, what did everyone have for lunch? I had a nice salad from my office cafeteria: lettuce; spinach; mushrooms; a few pieces of sesame chicken breast; couple cubes of cheese; all sprinkled with olive oil & balsamic vinegar. Tonight I paint coat #2 on the ceilings of what will be our master bedroom and Lisa’s “sitting room” just off of it. Finished painting the trim last night. Wednesday and Thursday evenings are set aside for paint coats #1 and #2 respectively on the walls. Friday night is cleanup. Saturday the new bedroom set arrives – cherry Shaker-style canopy bed, two bureaus, and two bedside tables. Come on. Someone has to have a more exciting life than I do, and I want (need!) to hear about it!

Bored?! That sounds like a good lunch. I had peanut butter toast for lunch yesterday and then promptly vomited. I've been sick as a dog for the last 2 weeks and the doctor put me on antibiotics yesterday. You could tie some flies to pass your boredom. Plus it's going to be real nice this weekend, you should hit the water. I hoping to hit the Deerfield.

I agree with Shaun. Whats up with everybody. There have been several messages posted lately and I'm guessing nobody has an opinion or simply doesn't want to participate. Its a shame. This board is an excellent resource. Am I to assume that everybody knows everything like Winters Hope claims. With the warmer weather things should be starting to get going. Is nobody getting out? (I know Shaun doesn't fish until is July or August or something like that ). Get out there even if the weather is bad, endure it. Besides there will be more room on the water for ya'

Ok... I'll bite. Just got back from a few days up on the Salmon River (New York State). Was hoping the warm temps would get the fish going. Only problem is the warm temps also raised the water flow. Still managed to get into some fish. Landed this one on a stone fly pattern.

Well yess -- it has been a bit boring, but I figure that at this time of the year boring can be good. It's boring when no water pipes have frozen, the wood pile looks like it is going to last the season and the car isn't burried in a bottomless mud hole. But -- just to break up the boredom I spent the afternoon on the Hoosic, just above the Blackington Canoe access. The fish didn't want to come out to play, but it was nice to be out for the first time since late Oct. AgMD

Nice fish Jim!
I was on the Hoosic yesterday where the Green River dumps into it. No luck there either. I should of called you, Kim. We could of been skunked together.

Mark,
I didn't get a weight but if I were to guess it was over 8lbs. Big fat female full of eggs. Caught it on a Rusher Stone pattern tied with some light blue estez. Blue is a popular color up on the Salmon River.

Ice fishing to me is torture. I like to catch a few perch now and again because I love buttery perch fillets, but, I hate standing around on a frozen lake watching a bunch of tip ups or jigging.
I hike in the winter, but I’m not sure I’d call it hiking. More often it’s snowshoeing or cross-country skiing as the snowpack usually prohibits traditional “hiking.” My father used to pride himself on being the first guy to hike to the Vermont state line on the Appalachian Trail every year. Come New Year’s morning he’d be up and out the door bright and early, snow shoes strapped to his back.

I don't ice fish either, but I'll fly fish all winter long on days above 32 degrees.
