Windsor Castle: A Royal Year

PBS was allowed unprecedented access into Windsor Castle for an entire year. I caught episode two of this three part series last night, and couldn’t stop watching it. Rather than a documentary on the royal family, this is, instead, an amazing look into the inner workings of the Castle with its hundreds of staff living there, the unbelievable tradition, etc.

I was most fascinated with the fellow whose sole job is to insure the 400 or so clocks in the Castle keep running. I didn’t see a single electric clock, and most were several hundred years old It is a 16 hour task for him to make the rounds and fix the time in the Castle when England’s version of “daylight savings” rolls around.

Episode three will involve an extensive tour of the 15,000 acre Castle grounds. I’m hoping they will show some fish & game or even some fishing and hunts with the gamekeeper, etc. The preview didn’t say….

Leaving the royals aside and the strong feelings they engender one way or another, the Castle is a living, breathing, working monument to a thousand years of British history. If anyone is enamored with “old things,” traditions, or just an extensive tour of the 900 room Castle, I highly recommend the show.

Ha Ha I watch tv,on my Computer It has a V-Stream Video magician its better than Tivo! Iam watching it rite now just push a botton on the remote to record or take a snap shote any time,you can plug a Vhs Recorder in to the bay and edit on to dvd or anything you have like a camcorder. My computer is a high end gaming system custom built for me by Digitalstorm Custom computers in Cal. 1 gig ram, 1/2 gig of Graphics Ausas A8N SLI-Deluxe MOBO ,ADM athalon 64 3800+ prosser.
its all lite up with neion lights people say is that part of your computer and i say it is my computer!

I don't watch much Tv but news and the Sifi network!travel chanal histroy chan. Sports chanel wen flyfishing is on or mountinbiking stoff like that. I allways watch Tv when i am on the net its in the corner in a small screen push another butten and it showes you all the chanels and whats on its Realy KOOL! Dose any one else have a custom system just wondering? I would like to find a good flyfishing game for it dose any one know of one i saw one once called fishing the green river Ive fished thair what a buttyfull place.But it dose not seam to be around anymore. Pps tell me when its on i could recorde them all and put them on a dvd I can porgram the computer to record every time its on and do it for me with out watch it. at the end of the seasson you could have them all.

Hay anyone like Flight sim or space flight or rockets check this out its Free its the best non shooter flight sim around you can fly to all the planets the moon or just around the world
but its really hard if you fly into space you have to know physics. You won't believe its Free

You have to think a lot! Iam better with numbers than words! But I still can't make it past Mars! After 4 years of trying but you can start their or on any planet or moon that has a base
I like to Build ships&Bases for it on my animation program's then you can fly your own ships to your own bases But thats really hard to it takes lots of study and some programing knowledge
Lots of time But its addictive try it! Maybe you will like it. If you have kids they will like it to. And its educational!
