This “Back the Brookie” movement has been around for some time now. Irritatingly, TU is focused on the southern range of the brook trout, rather than in the north where, arguably, the greatest chance for the long term survival of the fish lies….
There are still plenty of wild, native brookies in the Berkshires, but we continue to jeopardize the genetic pool with stocked fish in an ever increasing number of streams.
