It would be great if there was a member or two from south county willing to talk about the club at this event:
GREAT BARRINGTON — The first "Housie Day Fair" will take place tomorrow at the schoolyard in downtown Housatonic from 10 to 6.
Presented by the Barka Foundation, the Housatonic River Initiative, and Housatonic the Beautiful, the fair is designed to be a day of celebration of Housatonic and the river from which the town takes its name.
Berkshire County Environmental groups will have educational tables to display their local work.
Activities include live music and dancing throughout the day, children's games and activities with prizes, Bowie the Clown at 1:30 and an art walk of Housatonic Galleries, food, fly fishing lessons, fly tying, poetry readings, theater, art making and more. Also, from 9 to 2 is the Village Market, a benefit for the Ramsdell Public Library and the Congregational Church's annual rummage sale. Project Native will hold a plant sale and Jack's Restaurant will be open for early lunch.
Music will include kid friendly entertainment from 10 to 1 with the Juice Boxes, Stefanie Weber/ Creatures of Habitat, Tandala, and the Sambadees. Local singer songwriters will perform from 1 to 3, including Steve Adams, Sammy Brown and Ina/Katja. At 3 p.m., local religious leaders will gather together to offer a group prayer. Bands will continue at 3:45 with Dawn Barbieri, the Housatonic Philharmonic and Vertical Rush.
