A fellow fly fisher in the area saw one of our South County meeting flyer's in Egremont, MA and contacted me regarding rod building and quality aged bamboo rod building materials that he owns and that he is open to selling. Apparently, he has several 12 foot long sections of bamboo rods that he purchased in 1988 that seriously interested people can take a look at. I am far from knowledgeable about bamboo. However, Joe Overlock was very familiar with the importer of this particular bamboo and commented that this is the best. If anyone is interested in this bamboo material for rod building, please reply with your interest and I will find a way to put you in touch directly.
