1/5/1006 Flow: 322 CFS Water Temp: 35 Air Temp: 40's Water PH: 7.6+
Well it's my first river report for 2006 and it begins on a good note. I went out for 2 hours this afternoon to the Treet Cleaners basin. I landed a nice 7" brown and couldn't be happier about it. It lets me know that the browns are still reproducing in the stream.
It was in the news last week that Treet Cleaners was sold to Royal Cleaners and are moving to another location in North Adams. So, should we rename the Treet Cleaners basin?

Fished the South Branch for a few hours this morning. Caught and released three nice hatchery rainbows. Real pretty fish with big black spots and bright red stripes, unlike the usual colorless hatchery fish. Hard fighters, too. Took one on GRHE other two on a soft hackle version of a HE. River was way low, almost like mid summer and cold 42 degrees, which almost matched the air temp. Quit when it started to rain and my fingers got numb.
