Took advantage of the warm afternoon and grabbed my 3 weight and hiked through the woods into one of my not-so-secret small woodland streams.
Caught a couple of 5-6 inch brookies on a GRHE and flipped a bunch of 3-4 inchers. Good to see the small fish as it means the stream is still producing wild trout. Even more amazing is that such streams still exist ten minutes from my house.
We don't know how lucky we are to live where we do.

You guys want a sob story? Try being born and raised in the Northern Berkshires and spending all your free time afield, then moving to Southeastern Massachusetts for work when you become an “adult.”
People everywhere, Nature nowhere….
Only upside is, thanks to the employment opportunities out here, I plan to retire at a young age, move back to the Berkshires or Southern Vermont, and enjoy my golden years trout fishing and bird hunting an obscene amount of days per year.
