The river and weather report from fishing drift boat guide, Bill Davis of River Runners, is not good. Water in Altmar and Pulaski, NY is at dangerously high flood levels and the water is very dark and murky from all of the rain. It has rained almost all day every day on the river for two weeks.
The fishing is still good, but you have to know where to go. The key is finding the smaller streams and tributaries where the Steelhead are now. The power company announced that they will be lowering the water level which should make fishing the main river holes more conducive and more safe.
