Temp: 64 Speed:900cfs - 125cfs Water release ended at 2pm, the water was fishable by 3pm Josh Liberman and I fished the ever so popular catch and release area by Fife Dam today. There wasn't a lot of action on the water today though. We fished the area pretty hard and Josh was able to land a rainbow on a Pheasant Tail Nymph. Now that I have that out of the way, this was one of the most AMAZING days of my life. Just as we were leaving the river, we spotted a spike-horn deer next to the road. Josh grabbed his camera and started snapping away. He slowly started getting closer and closer to the deer while I stayed in his SUV, not wanting the spook the deer. The next thing I know, Josh (aka The Deer Whisperer) is arm length away from the deer, offering it his apple! This is a wild deer and here we are, arms length away from it! This was to good to be true, I wanted a turn. We followed this deer around for over an hour and a half and Josh got some amazing pictures of it, so good that he's going to submit a few to the outdoor magazines. I hope we see your work in Field and Stream, Josh. This deer had no fear of humans at all. He even wanted us to rub the velvet on his antlers. My only guess is that someone on the mountain was feeding it and that's why he had no fear of us. ... just in case anyone was wondering, we didn't clip any of it's hair for fly tying... but the though did cross my mind

You should of done more then clip some of it's hairs! You should of thrown that bambi across the hood of your car, brought it home, and cooked it. Then we could give "Uplander" some food, so the next time he goes fishing he'll be full, and practice catch and release.
