Temp: 65 degrees dropping to 62 degrees Speed: 900cfs down to 300cfs back up to 900cfs BambooMatt (aka Matt Alibozek) and I fished the Upper Catch and Release of the Deerfield today. There was a large ant hatch going on all day. As the water started to drop around 3pm the fish started going crazy. As soon as we dialed into to right pattern and presentation for the fish the water release sirens started ringing again. Two releases in one day. The trout stopped feeding but at least I got one nice rainbow before the release. When the water is not flowing at 900 cfs and up the Deerfield is an amazing trout stream and well worth a days drive to fish it. But when they do these un-scheduled releases it really screws the guy that drove 2-3 hours to fish it. Matt had a really good idea about a class action lawsuit against the power company to reimburse us for our gas money.
