I was cleaning my gear last night, dressing the lines, you know the usual fun stuff. Got me to wondering what everyone else uses to lubricate their reels? I usually use white lithium grease. I have tried a dab of amsoil on the gears, seems to work good.
I have never tried any of the " reel lubricants", just wondering if anyone had some suggestions.

I use lithium grease on my vise jaws but I think it might be a bit too heavy for reel maintenance and would worry about it picking up silt, etc... when the reel gets "dunked".
I would suggest using the lighter lubes that typically come with bait casting reels from Shimano, et. al.
Also, if you have a cork disc drag system, keep all lubes off the cork. You will want to use Neatsfoot (sp?) oil only on the cork face and probably only once a year, depending on how often you use it.
