You mentioned in another post you are a carpenter; rough or finish? I'm a Carpentry Division VP for a large contractor here in the Chicago area. Is it true, the carpenter's house never gets a new set of stairs? Mark

I do frame to finish. Most of the time I work alone, but I have a brother that I use on bigger jobs. Next week I start a deck, then after that I have to do a new set of interior stairs and new oak flooring. I do it because, 1. I take care of my parents who are retired and have some health issues & 2. I realy like doing it. I have a music back round ie. the StrBender name. Because of my job I find it hard to put in the time on my guitar to stay at the level I'm use to being at. Thats why it's great that I started to fly fish again. I needed the outlet.
Not just stairs. I need 2 new porches too!

I don't think I've ever met a carpenter that didn't like their job. Every job I've ever been on the carpenters are always in good moods. I can't say the same thing for us Electricians, though. We're a miserable bunch, always complaining and grumbling ....
