Well winter is the time to go over the equipment, wax the rods , oil and grease the reels. I have come to the conclusion that it is time to thin out the rod rack. So I offer for sale the following bamboo rods.
South Bend 8 1/2 3/2 Probably a #47 7 wt refinished with extra guides like a #52, which improves the action. Cane is in good condition, but shows black rust marks at the original guide placement. Cork -- comficient grip, worn with many dings and nicks. Seat uplocking "screwlock" w/ yellow plastic spacer. Spacer reel seat is warped but works just fine. Sock may be original but is thin and worn. PVC tube. $150
Shakespear A 1362 8 1/2 3/2 6 or 7 wt Refinished with original style multi colored thread. ( thread changes color every few inches producing a rainbow effect). Cane good, cork good , South Bend style uplocking " screwlock" type reel seat w/ black plastic spacer. Probably made by South Bend. Original rod sack is in terrible condition, PVC tube. Nice rod $175
Ed M. Hunter "autograph" 9' 3/2 6 or 7 wt. Looks like South Bend. All original as I recieved it except I did put a coat of varnish on the wraps. I suspect it may have been refinished in the past. Cane is good. Comficient cork grip is good, up lock "screwlock" seat w/ red annodized aluminum spacer. Nice sack, original S.B. aluminum tube. $200
All of these rods are just the thing for chucking streamers and buggers and would be a good intro into cane for not a lot of $$$. I just have too many rods in this weight class and it is time to give someone else a chance to enjoy them.
If there is any interest I will bring them to the Feb. North county meeting -- weather permitting. If anyone would like to lawn (snow) cast them we could meet after 5:00 at the N Adams Airport. Just let me know and we will set it up.
