You're fishing, its getting late, dinner will be ready soon and you say to yourself, "O.K. 10 more casts". You starting counting down. How many of you have caught fish on your "last cast" I have a reason for asking which goes back to a previous thread...

Only 10 more casts?
Yes, I'm been around so I've actually caught a few on the actual last cast of the day.
Many times towards the end of the day, after catching a fish, I pack it in thinking it can't get any better than that.
One time, I had a 17 lb. steehead pull my arm nearly out of my socket so that was my last fish that day. It was noon.

A 17 lb. Steelhead is a pig!!!
Got any pics of it? I'd love to see it.
The point I was going to make as reflected in my original post in this thread goes back to focus and fishing more effectively when we are confident.
It seems that when you have decided to pack it in and take a few more casts, you are more focused and fish the fly the way it was intended and hence increase the possibility of a fish on those last few tosses...

Interesting Thing about this topic is that if I'm fishing lately and it's my last cast i have been trying to make it better then all of the ones before.
But other thought on this is that sometimes I will say to myself this is gonna be my last cast, and I end up taking a few more then that, and if catching occurs, its usually the last cast.

Most of my steelhead days were back in the early and late 80s when the Ontario tribs were chock full of fish and the only thing that prevented you from a great day was the weather. Would you settle for this one that I already have on image? The year is 1984 and I caught it's twin several casts later. Those were the days.

Sorry Bartman:
I didn't see that you posted the pic.
That is a sweet looking fish and looks to have been in superb condition. Look at how fat it is at the tail!
Very nice!!! Thanks for taking the time to post it!
