The best way to end the fishing season here in the Western Mass/Southern VT is to fish the famed Trico hatch on the Battenkill River. Today the conditions were just right! The hatch was incredible! At one point there were so many spinners on the water it looked like a carpet of bugs. The pod of fish I was casting to were slurping the bugs so fast and furious that it sounded like someone sipping a bowl of soup. If you have the opportunity the conditions should be ideal the next few days. I snapped a few photos that you can view at: www.fishincane.com/PicGallery.aspx?id=11

I didn't see any. The way I see it, no mater what man does to prevent/spread it, nature will find a way to do what it wants. With that said... I'm have a dedicated pair of wading boots to use on the Battenkill.

Nice pictures.
What I want to know is what do you do to get the bugs to pose on your rod while you take pictures. Are they trained bugs or do they just like mugging for the camera?

Sweet!
Nothing like timing a trip to the water. I told you your "trout sense" have been spot on lately.
The Trico is a beautiful mayfly species.

ctroy,
There were so many bugs you could just stick you rod into the air and have one land on it. After about 10 tries I got the picture.
