I just spent a week in Northern NH and got to do some fishing on the Upper Androscoggin, as well as some small streams.
I fished several mornings on the Andro just below Pontook Dam. Caught mostly rainbows, with a few browns and landlocked salmon. The bows generally ranged ~10 inches, browns slightly bigger (12-14 inches). One of the salmon was about 13 inches, the other ab out half that. Decent caddis hatch one morning (cold and overcast, with a little drizzle), sporadic caddis and small mayflies coming off on the other morning (foggy and cold, as seen in the pictures below). Size 16 bead head GRHE and size 14 Elk hair caddis split evenly as most successful fly. The bigger Salmon nailed a Westfield River bug on the first cast and tail danced on the surface.
I fished the Andro one evening at dusk further downstream and caught 5 nice browns, 2 rainbows, and another landlocked in the span of about 90 minutes. Size 12 EHC was the pattern of choice, but a GRHE also was effective. This was casting to rising fish, with hard strikes on the top- real fun wasy to fish. It was all done under the watchful eye of a Bald Eagle perched high in a tree just upstream.
Fished some small streams with my 11 year old nephew one afternoon (Nash Stream and Pond Brook). Only caught one very small brookie. He joined us the next day on the Andro and caught his first fish ever on just a fly (he had caught several brookies earlier int he trip fishing small streams with his grandfather who insist on putting a piece of worm on his fly).

Fish-fry night at camp (venison roast courtesy of jlibs). Unfortunately, I don't eat fish or venison, but everyone tells me it was all very good! Check out the view out the window
