Hi members,
I am a new member, I joined 8 days ago. I have not received any material or have had any corespondence with any member yet. I have checked the website daily and all I see are the same few people with new posts on the forum. If your interested in having new responces let me know as I have fished the Salmon River in N.Y., the Deerfield, the Westfield, the Swift before 911, and many New Hampshire rivers and streams in the last 20 years.
I also have an Orvis Clearwater 7 wt. that I use for steelhead on the Salmon River which has been great for steelhead.
I am also a member of the Taconic chapter of Trout Unlimited, although my job does not permit me to make many of their meetings.
I am interested in meeting other fly fishermen in the area, and would like to get to know the Hoosic River this season. I will try to make the March 14th meeting, although again with my job it's tough to commit.
I live in Lanesborough, work in the Private Country Club business and love to fish on week days.
Henry

Welcome! The snow on the ground is disappointing this time of year, but the calendar tells us that fishing is gonna happen soon. The snow pack is not too deep and I would expect that most of it will be gone by the end of this week. AgMD

Supposably, Melting snow releases negatively charged ions which is said to stop fish from feeding. So fish in the morning before the snow melts. And fish at night after the snow is done melting. Just my two cents on melting snow!

That's the coolest theory I've ever heard. Where did you hear it from? I want to find out more about that.
