About 2 inches of snow and a WHOLE LOT of sleet/freezing rain at my office in Springfield. It's a big, slippery mess out there and I'm not looking forward to the drive home. Too many people with SUVs who think that 4WD=sticks to ice.
We had about 3-4 inches of snow when I left my house in Northampton MA (about 20 miles north of here). This is a pretty interesting storm (actually 2 storms), and I'm curious to see what the afternoon will bring. They're closing the office a 2:30 so I plan to get started on some of the flies for the fly swap.

Wicked is more of a Boston thing. Every time I make the trip out east I notice it more. It's kind of like the Southerners with 'Y'all" I don't have a problem with it, I just think regional dialects are funny. I was told before that we don't pronounce our "T's" out here. Like in Kitten or Mitten. I know I'm guilty of that.

Wicked is more of a Boston thing. Every time I make the trip out east I notice it more. Really? I've used "wicked" my entire life, and hear it much more in the Berkshires than I do out in Eastern Mass. I always thought it was a Central/Western Mass thing....

It might also be that I just notice it more with the Boston accent. It seems to highlight it more.

i generally have to try to get a maine accent to come out and most of the folks in southern maine that have a thicker accent have more of a southern nh eastern ma accent. once you get into the downeast areas above brunswick going north you hear more of the "cahn't get theyuh frum heyuh" downeaster lahbstuhmen's dialect.
thaht's a wicked good chowduh theyuh mahthuh!!!
translated;
martha that is a delicious creamy fish stew that you have prepared! ;D
