not sure if this is a repost for you guys as i'm still a newbie here. i was asked about monster brook trout in another thread and i recalled seeing this just recently... and granted it was caught on spinning gear but you have to admire this fish. simply unbelievable. a true monster. www.brooktrout.ca/new-world-record-brook-trout.htmthe coolest part is that the guy said to hell with the igfa and released the fish anyway. (the igfa requires that you produce the dead fish to have your record validated )

I'm glad you brought that up. I posted that story on our blog last month. berkshireflyfishing.blogspot.com/2006/11/brook-trout-nets-angler-1000-and.htmlIt was a pretty exciting news story so I decided to post it to FlyFisherman.com's forum, and from there guys posted it on other regional forums on different websites. I was following the conversations they guys where having about this brute and everyone seemed pretty happy for the guy. Except the guys on FlyFisherman.com's forum. Here's the post: outdoorsbest.zeroforum.com/zerothread?id=561092A few of them basically called him a liar and fish killer. That's the only forum I read where the guys always look to the negative. I don't even know why some of them fish.

unfortunately some people are not so good at sharing other folks triumphs and seeing a great fish is all for naught if they didn't land it. btw, that blog page you guys have is pretty nice, very informative as well. consider this an open invite to check out my "home" forum. it's run by a freind of mine (and owner of clearwater fly shop in conway, new hampshire) and is a great resource for tying and fishing knowledge. it's a great forum and it's kind of like family, folks are very welcoming and happy to share (as long as you don't ask specifics about "special spots" ). no pompus attitudes, occasional heated but civil debates, and it's very active. come on by!!! *edit* oops, almost forgot the link clearwaterflysh.14.forumer.com/
