hello everyone, just registered on this board and looking to meet a few fly chuckers in western mass. i currently reside in maine and have since 1993 but i was born in north adams and was raised in deerfield and greenfield. my family is still in greenfield so i'm there frequently and would like to find a few places to throw my fly and meet a few folks from back thattaway. i enjoy both saltwater and freshwater flyfishing and tie both salt and fresh as well. i hope to tap your brains and maybe even make some freinds ;D

thank you, i generally fish the green river as my parents property is right next to it. my favorite areas have been the south river in conway near conway station and the bardwells ferry area. i haven't been to the latter in some time. unfortunately fishing has rarely been a priority on my visits home, but i hope to change that. My grandparents still reside in north adams and the cold river has always piqued my interest even since i was a child riding in the car from greenfield to north adams via rt2. i will be down there during the holidays, any suggestions?

thanx for the welcome strbender, i live in portland, so i would guess you have a bit of a head start on me. if anyone has questions about or would be heading towards maine i would be happy to point you in the right direction or meet up to wet a line. most of my knowledge is in the southern portions of this state, but i also know a good bit about the rangely lakes region as i spend a week or two in that area every september. right now the majority of our action is in the sea-run portions of our year round rivers.

i landed this one (and then sent him on his way) in the sea-run stretch of the mousam river in kennebunk. i'd say he's about 16" maybe a hair more i don't know if you'd call him a monster but he's pretty big to me. the picture doesn't do him justice (it was taken with the camera in my cell phone) his colors were stunning, a beautiful fish. his face was in the net and his tail was hanging down too so you don't get a real sense of his size either.
