After lasts nights presentation at Bosquet, I'm jazzed up to tie some flies this winter.
Where and when are the Sportsmans/Fishing shows that will be in the area? I'm ready to go to look around, but also to buy some more materials and possibly some new tools.

The Marlboro show is about a 3 hour drive from North Adams and here's the info on that: www.flyfishingshow.com/marlborough/Royal Plaza Trade Center Marlboro, Massachusetts January 19, 20, 21, 2007 Show Hours: Fri 10 – 6; Sat 9 – 5:30; Sun 9 – 4:30 Admission – Adult: $14 for one day, $24 for two-day pass, $32 for three-day pass; Children under 12: $2 The Somerset, NJ show is supposed to big bigger and is only an extra hours drive, here's the info for that one: www.flyfishingshow.com/somerset/Garden State Exhibit Center Somerset, New Jersey January 26, 27, 28, 2007 Show Hours: Fri 10 – 6; Sat 8:30 – 5:30; Sun 9 – 4:30 Admission – Adult: $14 for one day, $24 for two-day pass, $32 for three-day pass; Children under 12: $2 The one that I'm really excited for is The International Fly Tying Symposium in Somerset, NJ. I don't think there will be any vendors there, but it's going to offer classes from some of the best fly tyers in the world. www.internationalflytyingsymposium.com/index.htmlThe Marlboro and Somerset show both offer some exciting lectures and classes. The Somerset ones seem slightly more interesting Anybody interested in a group trip? Maybe we can put one together.

So is anyone actually attending these shows ? I would like to attend the one in New Jersey or Massachussetts. Would anyone want to meet up there maybe do some fishing in or around the areas of the shows?

I'm not going to be able to make it to the shows this year. The one in Jersey is the better one. The Marlboro show seems like it's going to have more saltwater geared stuff.

No one has mentioned the Eastern Fishing & Outdoors Exposition at the Worcester Centrum, have they? www.sportshows.com/Worcester/worcmain.htmI went once a few years ago, and it wasn’t really my cup of tea, but to be honest it’s the ONLY sportsman’s show I’ve ever been to (being an unsociable recluse and all), so I don’t really have a good frame of reference for these things…. The d**n thing was HUGE, and seemed to have something for every niche in the sporting world. Who knows, if I don’t have anything better to do that weekend, maybe I’ll go this year.

I went to that show a few years ago and wasn't that great. It was more hunting then anything else and I suck at hunting. I also went to the one in Albany a few years ago and that was just aweful. I've never been to the Fly Fishing shows though.
