How was it? Who made it out?
I really wanted to go, but I'm still overseas on business.

We had 15 members show up and Phil gave an excellent presentation. He unveiled a lot of the mysteries behind publishing a magazine. A few interesting notes: Every issue is prepared to be around 90 pages and then downsized based on advertising sales. Phil encourages everyday anglers to send queries for articles. The spring issue is the best selling issue. Fly Fishing mags sell better on the news stand if the cover has a picture of a big fish. (that's why all the mags look similar) American Angler concentrates on the technical aspects of our sport in it's content. Check out Zack Matthew's Podcast interview with Phil to learn more about what he presented at the meeting. www.itinerantangler.com/podcasts/podcasts/
