Any recent activity to report? Seems like the cooler weather we've had recently should've brought the stream temps down a bit. Are the trout out again?

I was fishing the Hoosic two nights ago and there was a bunch of 6" Browns taking something. Damned if I could figure it out.
The Hoosic in Adams has been fishing real good this year also with a lot of rainbows spread through out it.

Fished the Housatoinc in Lee Tuesday afternoon and took three nice browns in the 12-inch range. Looks like they made it through the summer just fine. Water was at 64 degrees.
Went up to the Hoosic this morning and caught a couple of small browns in Adams on soft hackles and then went up to the river in North Adams. Took a couple of 8-9-inch browns on the same soft hackle. Then all of a sudden fish started rising all over the place but there were no bugs on the water or in the air. Found an emerger in my box and tied it on and they went nuts for it. Caught and released about a half-dozen more till there was nothing left of the fly but the hook and some thread. Water there was real cold 64 degrees.

I hit a local small stream with my brother on Monday. It was great. The brookies were coloring up for spawning, and they rose to the fly all day long. I love September fishing!
Only one more month ‘till bird season though!

Unfortunately, I've been working too much for outings...but I can report that someone I know of locally in south county landed a nice 18" brown in the Housatonic C&R section this past week by the railroad trussel. Even better...he's new to the area and it was his first outing on the Housy! -Time to target big browns.
