At last nights South County meeting, many members asked if they were going to fish water not in the Berkshires, where could they get up to date information. This conversation was generally focused on saltwater.
Where would you get the report or up to date info?
Some suggestions were:
-Calling On The Water and asking -Calling a local tackle shop -Calling a local dept of fish and game
What do you suggest?

It seems that every state/region has a fishing hot line, and a web page equivalent. But some of these are using input from charter captains, guide services, and bait shops. All sources with an economic interest. I'm not suggesting that any one is outright lying, but there may be a temptation to "color" things a bit. There are many bulletin boards which, like us, are regional. If you can find one such board for the region you are interested in , you may be able to get better information, and in a more timely fashion. www.ctfisherman.com/ This is just one such board. I should point out that charter captains and guides will post on these boards too. AgMD
