I hope everyone gets through the storm OK this weekend. I already got 3" and they say Essex County could get another 4" plus. I tried fishing the Ipswich River on Wednesday but it was already blown out. You should see it now. We are definitely going to see some flooding.

Checked the hotline, Fife Brook Dam at 1200 cfs until midnite! Monroe bridge stretch over 500 cfs! Westfield river on TV this morning, high, brown and ugly. Weather chanel says rain and showers until next Friday at least. It's blowout time.
Keep telling yourself, rain is good, rain is good, rain is good...

Fish the lakes and ponds. I caught a bunch of stocked browns this morning casting to rising trout on a local pond....

I'm now at 8" of rain with another 4" forcasted for today. I have at least 3" in the basement (pump is working OT) My dad is starting his second week in the hospital. He would be driving me crazy if he was home. All & all it's great to be alive.

strbender:
Sorry to hear about the basement.
Its hard for me to believe the amount of rain that the area has gotten and how much more is to come!
If I remember, last year about this time there was alot of rain and there was a very old timber dam in the suburban Boston area that they were afraid might give way. Do you know if anything was done last year to reinforce it or do they have the same worries again?
My prayers are with all of you who are effected.
Mark

Mark Sad to say, I'm a veteran of floods! When we had the last one October 1996 I lost EVERYTHING to 60" of raw sewerage . That same house got slammed again this time. Glad I don't live there anymore! Most of the local dam's are holding back the water. I think the total will be over 14" in my town.
