As you may know, the subject for the May meetings is BAMBOO!! This may be an excellent chance to compare sensitivity with graphite, or casting feel, or whatever you may think is important in a fly rod. I will be bringing a small handfull to the North county meeting, and except for a few rods, folks will be able to lawn cast them or take them down to the river. Some of these rods need a 7 or 8 weight line , and I just don't have enough 7 or 8 weight lines or reels to outfit all the rods at once. If you have a reel loaded with 6, 7 , or 8 weight line perhaps you might bring it allong. If you have a bamboo rod , whether in fishing condition or not, bring it allong and let us all gaze upon it. Thanks for the generous offer to bring the bamboo to the north county meeting. I have a 5-weight and a couple of 9-weight reels spooled up if it could help you. Let me know.
Also, I know it would be a bit of a ride, but would you consider joining us for the south county meeting too for the love of Bamboo?
I'm looking forward to my first experience with bamboo.
What do you think?

AgMD,
I have a reel spooled up with 8wt. line that I will bring. I will be bringing about a half dozen rods to the North County meeting also. Should be a good time.

Dear FishinCane,
I know that the ride for you to South County is a good one, as it is for AgMD. Could you car pool with Joe? It would be great to see you (and your bamboo) down here next meeting. It's all about the bamboo. We have many interested South County members.

Hello AgMD, I'll have Joe contact you so you can carpool.
FishinCane, no pressure! I bet you could carpool with AgMD and Joe too. South county would like to see you, and your bamboo. There is a buzz on th street down here.

As I work 1.5 hours from South County I may get out early that day. If conditions are right I might try to get some fishing in on the Housitonic. Anyone want to meet before the meeting?

FishinCane, I will definitely be at the meeting Wed. May 10th, and I would like to meet you on the Housatonic, in Houstanic for some pre-meeting fly fishing. Let's speak offline as we get a little closer.
I'm looking forward to it and I'm excited that you'll be joining us at the South County meeting. Maybe Orvis will lend you a few Orvis bamboo rods for show and tell/Orvis marketing.

iroc -- I have refinished/rebuilt a handfull of cane rods. If you come to one of the bamboo meetings you will be able to see some of my work. What kind of work on what kind of rod , might be needed? Bring the rod to the bamboo night and we can discuss what might be done. AgMD
