*bump*
some of you ought to consider making the trek up.....eustis is a great area, close to both the upper K region and rangely, the raffle & silent auction are top notch (better than my TU banquet, in fact, and my chapter is one of the tops in NE!), we'll have Maine IF&W Commissioner Martin as a speaker, looks like we'll have Sage/Ross (& others) regional rep Brad Gage as well as someone from Scott, as well as float tube/canoe demos, and more!

we rotate around the 1st official conclave was evergreen campgrounds on the mid-Kennebc.....8 guys the nest year was up on moosehead - 70+ guys, we raised almost $5k for Saco River Salmon club and a few others; the following year was in Rangeley and we raised over $7k for the Save the Rapid effort (which FFIM started, now funded by TU, Orvis & others); last year was on the West Branch Penobscot, we raised well over $5k for the Casting for Recovery program and the Maine TU Trout Camp this year in Eustis is the 1st year with our grant program; we awarded grants totalling $5k; one to a Rangeley Region "Live the Legends" program, a youth FF/conservation group, and the rest to help fund a Maine IF&W biologist's radio tag study of brookie movement in Chamberlain Lake. All extra money donated will go into FFIM's general fund. The event keeps groing & growing; this year we have sponshorship from Gritty McDuff's, a Maine brewer (read: free beer), another original Bob White watercolor for auction, a ton of other art, rods, etc in addition to these two big raffles, and we may be getting the crew from the Trout Bum Diaries to attend and do a movie screening. Not bad for a site that started off in '95 by a college kid at Rutgers..... in fact, the owener, Dan Tarkinson, got this writeup today: outdoors.mainetoday.com/news/060423fleming.shtml
