Steelhead Fishing

Anyone ever been Steelhead Fishing before? I've been itching to go for the past couple of years and I think that I'm going to pull the trigger this season.

I know I can get into some out near Lake Ontario, but is there anything closer? I've heard that maybe the Deerfield holds some but I'm not sure when or where.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Oliver, yes a few guy's I know hit upstate NY for steelies, and I guess its well worth the trip & time, and some go to Pa. I don't know about the Deerfield in Mass. or upper Deerfield in Vermont, not sure.

I might get out today for a couple hours up on the Westfield river. They did a fall stocking on certain sections, and I heard & read the trout have been fairly active.
