The average tyer doesn't need blends. The best bang for you buck is to buy the 12 compartment dubbing boxes pre-loaded with dubbing colors of a type and color selection. I never buy individual dubbing packs with the exception of a custom colored Beaver dubbing I use to tye the Purple Haze series of flies. If you look you will see that purple dry fly dubbing is virtually non-existent. Wapsi, Hareline, Spirit River, etc... all have the pre-loaded boxes. Superfine I dry fly dubbing and Hares Ear nymph dubbing in the boxes is a must have for every tyer.
Note: Superfine I means #1. There is also a Superfine II.
