Well, it was a quick opportunity that I had late yesterday afternoon after a few honey doo's and my sons afternoon baseball game. I had an hour and a half or so give or take a few from 3:30 to about 5:00 which I decided it was time to wet a line, and try out my newly added Winston Vapor fly rod & reel I bought last winter. I went to a spot on the river that is usually always good for a few trout, but it was busy with several fly fishermen that were already there. I found some free water with some elbow room which was not my usual reliable spot. I ended up getting skunked which is "ok" and all is good I did get a missed hit on a Sz 14 sulfer parachutte, which was my bad. (Wasn't paying attention ) Anyway so far, I like the new Winston addition over all. It casted pretty sweet and seems great using dries which is my passion. I already knew the 7'6" 5wt is a little short for nymphing which I did try anyway. I really wanted to put the rod thru its paces, but the short amount of time I had really didn't give me that trial/test opportunity from A-Z that I wanted, but next time. Next time is already calling my name.
