Not quite the Berkshires, but, hey, it's still flyfishing and some of you might be interested-
Fished the Androscoggin river in Milan/Dummer NH, last friday morning. Started out around 6am, and it was foggy. Caught one 13 inch rainbow on an EHC below Pontook Dam. Once the fog burned off, the caddis started hatching and I quickly caught a few 14-16 inch browns, as well as some nice, hard fighting small mouth and EHC and parachute adams. I used a dandelion emerger, and got a hard take on what seemed like every cast, but I couldn't hook any- a problem I seem to have frequently with that pattern.
I moved downstream and caught 6 uniformly 13 inch rainbows, again on EHC and Adams dries, with an occasional small smallmouth thrown in. All in all, a pretty good morning. (I switched to the pond and Mr. Twisters in the afternoon and caught some nice smallmouth, but that is a post for a different board!)

Nice! I just got back from a three day non-fishing trip in NH. I brought the kayaks but no fishing poles (stupid) and did up some ponds in the Squam Lake area. Also hiked some trails in Franconia/Mt Washington areas. - nice places to visit.

OOOH! Your talking my language with NH? I've spent a lot of time up in Errol, Berlin, Milan as well area called Success. Some of the family has a small hunting cabin down the road in Gorham NH, and I've hunted partridge & deer though out those areas, as well as plenty of fishing. I haven't been up that way for a few years, and YES I do miss it.
I keep telling myself that I'm going to make a pilgrimage up that way sometime, but time passes by.
Maybe Fly fishing Pittsburgh NH area early this fall though? At least its a nice thought to keep thinking about
Yes, its whats Gods country up there........Phil

Phil- what were you doing in Milan? My wife grew up in Groveton, and have some family cabins in Stark. You ever fish up in Phillips Brook? Yes, Ive spent a ton of time all around that area hunting and fishing over the prior years before moving from eastern Mass. to the Berkshires 13 years ago. My brother has a small cabin in Gorham NH right at the bottom of Randolph hill off of RT 2 up behind Moose brook State park. Though it doesn't ring a bell, I may have fished Philips brook? I've fished many places in that region that I'm not sure of many of the names of the rivers and Brooks other then the larger ones. With all my memories of my time spent in that region, your a very lucky man to still be enjoying all that this area/region of NH has to offer. Lets just say I'm a bit jealous. Hey, did they ever build the Federal Prison in Cascade, just curious? The last time I was up there, that project was on the horizon. Anyway enjoy it..........Phil
