I got up early this AM and decided I was going to go hit the Housatonic. Because of my sons baseball, I only had a couple hours. Between 7:30 & 10:30am I landed 8 cookie cutter Browns all around 10"-12" inches, and didn't land one that I hooked that was 20"s plus that was a real freak'n Pig. I had the pig on and went to net it, and it broke off my tippet. All I can say is, "Its still there for another day." I also had a load of missed, and unlanded fish that I wasn't counting. I hot fly of the morning was a bead head prince nymph in what ever pattern you desire. I tried a Zug bug, woolly bugger and various others, that didn't work. But the standard Prince, Royal prince, formally known, it didn't matter. That Prince pattern fly was what the trout wanted. When I was done, and went to remove my waders, these nymphs were in my gravel guards. (see photo) I also included a distant picture of one of the cookie cutters which was nothing special. All in all, a great morning........Phil ImageShack.us ImageShack.us
